Capped with a golden puff pastry lid, it bakes flaky and crisp while the filling turns glossy and indulgent underneath. Perfect with mash and greens, or go pub-style with chunky chips and extra gravy.

Pie details

  • Generous chunks of diced beef in a cheddar-enriched gravy (onion, herbs; may include a splash of stock/ale depending on batch)

How to cook (from chilled)

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (fan 180°C).

  2. Remove outer packaging; keep the pie in its foil/tin.

  3. Egg wash for extra shine (optional).

  4. Bake on a tray 25–40 mins (size dependent) until the pastry is deep golden and the centre is piping hot throughout.

  5. Rest 5 mins before serving.
    From frozen: Defrost in the fridge overnight, then bake as above (or add 10–15 mins if cooking from frozen—tent with foil if browning too quickly).


Serving ideas

  • Mash, peas & gravy, plus a little extra grated cheddar on top

  • Chunky chips and pickled red onions for pub vibes
